Auggie

Auggie is a 2yr old slick coat GWP.

He is looking for his forever home as he has not been great around kids as he has some resource guarding. He would do best with a single handler that can be consistent with him. He has a ton of go and not a lot of stop. We've been hunting him and he loves it. Currently working on his stopping/pointing. He has a pretty natural retrieve and a BIG desire for birds (and squirrels and cats). He does have resource guarding issues but easily found some harmony with my other dog after some exposure work. He does still guard with other dogs he doesn't know. He is really eager to please and all he wants to do is exactly whatever makes you happy but he can get a little too excited can be very mouthy. The mouthiness is something my husband does not discourage but I don't allow and he knows not to do it with me so I think with better and consistent training he could leave it behind. He'd be so happy as a solo dog with someone active who could take him out in big spaces every day. He loves hunting but more than that he just loves being out with his people. Currently he runs at a vineyard several times per week and gets out at least once per day for an off leash run. He has a fantastic off switch at home but thrives on being exercised. If he's not able to get out he gets over excited in the house. I do run him at a large, open off leash dog park but closely manage all dog interactions and do not let him linger, he can greet and move on from any interaction as long as it doesn't last too long. He is crate trained at home and travels well in a crate for both short and multiday trips. He's a fantastic dog.
