Goose is an adorable 4-month-old German Wirehaired Pointer (GWP) and Labrador Retriever mix who found himself wandering the streets of Burley, Idaho, when he was just around 3 months old. This young pup was alone and vulnerable, navigating the world without a familiar face or a loving home to guide him. Despite his charm and playful nature, he was never claimed by anyone, which led to his transfer to a shelter in Boise. There, he received essential care, including being neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ensuring that he was ready for a new beginning.

His irresistible cuteness quickly caught the attention of potential adopters, and he was promptly adopted shortly after his arrival. However, in a surprising turn of events, he was returned just under two weeks later due to reported aggressive behavior. It’s crucial to pause and reflect on this situation; it raises significant questions about why a mere 3-4 month old puppy would exhibit aggression. Puppies at this tender age are typically still in the formative stages of their behavior and socialization, and such a label can often stem from fear, lack of proper training, or simply the stress of being in a new environment.

Recognizing the need for a second chance, the shelter reached out to us, and we were eager to step in and provide Goose with the loving home he deserves. We swooped him right up the very next day, determined to help him thrive.
