Travis is an affectionate and energetic 8-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) who unexpectedly found himself in search of a new loving home after the unfortunate passing of his beloved owner. In the wake of this loss, a compassionate neighbor stepped forward to take Travis in, recognizing the need for a caring environment during this difficult transition. However, despite their good intentions and the warmth they have offered him, this neighbor is unable to provide a permanent home for Travis, which means that Travis is still in need of a stable and nurturing environment where he can thrive once again.

Travis is a breed known for its intelligence, loyalty, and high energy levels, making him an ideal companion for active individuals or families who enjoy outdoor activities. He has a friendly disposition and is eager to please, which makes training and socialization relatively easy. His playful nature and love for exercise mean that he requires regular walks, playtime, and mental stimulation to keep him happy and healthy. As a GSP, he thrives in environments where he can run and explore, so a home with a yard or access to open spaces would be perfect for him.

In addition to his physical needs, Travis also craves emotional connection and stability. The loss of his owner has likely left him feeling confused and anxious, as dogs are sensitive to changes in their environment and routine. It’s essential for his next caretaker to provide him with the love, patience, and understanding he deserves, helping him adjust to this new chapter in his life. With the right guidance and affection, Travis has the potential to become a loyal and loving member of a new family, bringing joy and companionship to those who welcome him into their lives. He is already house trained, kennel trained and does have hunt training, but due to his previous owner's declining health, he hasn't been hunted over in a couple years. He is being adopted by a lovely family who lives in Big Fork, MT!
