Toby was picked up as a stray outside Logan, UT, in a very rural area where the landscape is characterized by vast open spaces and sparse population. He was discovered wandering alone, likely searching for food and shelter, which is a common plight for many animals in such isolated regions. After being rescued, he was taken to a local animal shelter, where he spent less than a week. Unfortunately, during his brief stay, the shelter staff noticed that he was experiencing significant stress. He exhibited signs of anxiety, particularly through incessant pacing in his kennel, a behavior often indicative of distress in dogs who are not accustomed to confinement or who have faced traumatic experiences.
Recognizing the urgency of Toby's situation, we quickly arranged for a foster home to take him in as soon as possible. We were relieved to facilitate this transition, as it became clear that Toby was in desperate need of a calmer environment. Within just 12 hours of being in foster care, Toby experienced a severe medical crisis, suffering from a total of eight seizures within a 24-hour period. This alarming development necessitated an emergency visit to a veterinary clinic, where he was closely monitored overnight.…
