Ruger the GWP

Ruger is a delightful GWP, 2.5 years old, seeking a new permanent home due to his original owners' changing life circumstances, not through any fault of his own. He is currently in foster care in SLC. Ruger has a passion for birds—any kind of bird—and he absolutely loves to run, often for hours on end. He enjoys water and sometimes likes to swim, depending on his mood. Occasionally, he can't be kept out of the water, while other times he needs encouragement to get in. He gets along well with all dogs he has met and has interacted with horses without any problems. He hasn't encountered a cat, so his reaction to them is unknown. Ruger performs exceptionally well with an E-collar, staying by your side and following commands such as heel, sit, stay, and down. During bird hunting, he has been trained to retrieve birds when prompted with "dead bird," which is the only cue for his release. Besides that, he is a lovable, energetic dog.
