Roux

Roux is a 4yr old GSP located in AK looking for his forever home.

He is currently in Kodiak, AK- family willing to transport him anywhere to the right home!!

He is off leash trained, house trained and loves to go on adventures! He loves the water. He does well with other dogs his size, but isn't fond of the smaller dogs that he currently lives with. So he woundn't do well in a house with cats either.

HE WILL BE IN A BOARD AND TRAIN FIRST 2 WEEKS OF JUNE IN MISSOULA THAT WILL BE WORKING WITH HIS SMALL DOG AGRESSION AND RESCOURCE GUARDING.

He has not been hunted over.

APPLY NOW, LOOKING FOR A FOSTER TO ADOPT AFTER BOARD AND TRAIN!!!

Bunker

Bunker is an approximate 3yr old neutered male from a hoarding situation in UT.

He is at the home rescue base outside of Helena, MT.

He is good with other dogs, he can be playful, but can also just chill and has a great off switch if he gets his daily exercise. He is a big runner and runs more than all 7 of his foster GSP siblings, averaging 8-10+ miles a day off leash at least. He is a VERY smart boy. In the first 48 hours of being in the rescue he has learned sit, kennel, down, where to go to go out to potty, leave it command, not to counter surf, and how to share/wait his turn for treats. He is off leash trained with the ecollar. He enjoys car rides now and loads right up. He needs slow introductions to males, he co-exists with males, but is dominant if given the opportunity. He REALLY loves snuggling with all the ladies in the house.

He has not been hunted over or had any hunting, with lots of exposure he could become a bird dog as he has a good nose and has found some deer legs and antlers on the trails!

APPLY NOW!!!

Harper

Harper is a sweet 2-4yr old female English Pointer saved from the shelter setting in Kalispell, MT where she had been sitting for the last 8mtns!!!!

We couldn't believe it either, so we snatched her up as soon as we knew about her.

She is in fostered at the home base in Helena, MT

She is great with other dogs and would really thrive with a multidog household. She will take time to warm up to new people, but is getting better and quicker to trust with every interaction. She tends to ignore young kids that have been at the house and just does her own thing.

She is kennel trained, and seems to really love her kennel. She is getting used to car rides, we are working on leash training as she does like to pull and also working on heeling. She is off leash trained with an ecollar, she house trained. She is learning to be calm in the house outside of her kennel and is really decompressing every day.

She also seems to love the water and even waded into the river to check out a rock with her winter coat on and then to chase some geese and ducks,

She is a big running dog and will range out up to 800 yards if you let her. She will need someone willing to let her run at least 10 miles a day, but easily does 20. She is VERY birdy and would love to go to a hunting home. Has had gun intro and is starting to learn to retrieve.

She has not been hunted over, so this is not guaranteed. She has also not been around cats, and due to her prey drive may not do well.

APPLY NOW!!!

Mack

Mack is a 6 yr old neutered GSP looking for his forever home as his owner's health is declining and they can no longer provide what he needs.
He is currently in Yakima, WA.

Mack is a lovable and happy pup. He loves being around people and other dogs and will do best in a home where he spends minimal time alone. He loves to run and explore but will also be a snuggle-bug on the couch when he's done (preferably under a blanket). He will wade in water, but we haven't gotten him to swim.
Mack is kennel trained (has separation anxiety and needs a secure kennel, (he will come with one). He is house trained, has basic obedience including sit, wait, drop, and off. He does need work on people coming in the door and being calm while waiting at the vet or anywhere where he can see a dog but can't get to them
(he will whine loudly). He loves to be around other dogs, but would do okay as an only dog if his human is home or he gets taken on all the adventures. He will also bring you anything you drop on the floor (phone, bottle of water, etc.). Mack is not hunt trained, and is gun-shy, but he is e-collar trained for recall.
Mack has skin allergies and is currently on prescription dog food and needs occasional allergy shots. He has not had any allergy testing, but that may help determine what he is allergic to and an alternative to the prescription food may be an option.
Mack had surgery in September 2024 for ingesting something he shouldn’t have and is currently kenneled when he can’t be supervised for his safety, but feel this is because he is not getting enough exercise! He is not doing well spending all night and most weekdays in his kennel, especially as his owner cannot provide the exercise that he needs. This is why someone who is home most of the time, can take him wherever they go, or who has the energy to
provide him with ample enrichment will make the best home.

APPLY NOW!!!

Cody

Cody is a sweet 8yr old neutered male GSP/Lab.

His owners are looking to rehome him as they live in AZ, are worried about the warmer months for him and are in medical school and are worried about him getting enough exercise.

Cody is a very affectionate, loyal dog. He is food motivated and aims to please. He is great is the car and both on and off leash. Cody does have some separation anxiety and doesn’t do well with being left alone for extended periods of time, he also would do best in a family without young kids as loud noises and quick movements can startle him. Can be overwhelmed by children. Does bark at intruders. Would do best with older kids. He would do fine as an only dog or with other dogs.

APPLY NOW!!!

Dash

Dash is a sweet 8.5yr old setter (currently not altered, but the rescue will be getting him neutered) looking for his forever home. He is currently located in Berry, Kentucky. His dad is a rancher, realtor, and now has 2 young kids and feels bad for Dash that he isn't out doing what he loves. He LOVES to hunt and his dad states he didn't even get him out this last year. He has the following training: Kennel Training, Basic Obedience, House Training, Advanced Obedience, and Hunt Training. He has been around kids. He has another younger setter so does fine around other dogs.

Koa-Needs urgent foster

Koa is a 3yr old black and white neutered male GSP looking for his forever home. NEEDS URGENT FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT

He is still with his original owners, currently located in Salmon, WA

He loves being outside, running, and playing fetch. He has extreme drive which has just become to must for us to handle. He needs a home that he has property to roam and/or a job/work. He has been e collar trained. And he is crate trained. Koa would do best with a trained handler or hunter. Someone that can give him a job and a task and can dedicate the time needed to train and be with him. Koa has too much drive to just be a house pet. He needs works and to be mentally and physically stimulated daily. He is house trained and kennel trained. He has had some dog reactivity primarily when on leash, and has had some negative assoications with the ecollar due to a trainer he went to, so will need some work with building his confidence and trust. He is kennel trained, but doesn't always love going into his kennel. So will need continued work on this as well.

APPLY NOW!!!

Scout

Scout is a sweet 4yr old female who found herself looking for another home, of course no fault of her own.

She was adopted off craigslist after her last litter and then the individual who adopted her moved and city limits required her to a 2 dog limit, so Scout was looking for her new home.

She was placed in foster in Bozeman, and then She was adopted and living life in Great Falls, MT. Unfortunately, her prey drive is just too high and they couldn't get her to co-exist with their cats.

She is now at the home rescue base. She is doing well with the dogs at the rescue house and loves to play with Harper. She settles well in her kennel. She is house trained and has figured out the dog door. She loves to do zoomies in the back yard! She loves to point and hunt anything that moves. She was tossed a dead pheasant and had zero hesitancy picking it up. With calling her, she did bring it right to hand.  She was VERY happy to have a bird in her mouth! She has great recall with the ecollar. She will need alot of exercise to be your content cuddly dog inside. :)

She has done fine in the house with the other dogs, she would do better in a home alone or with another female. She has some aversion to male dogs in close quarters. Out walking/hunting she could care less, well because she is hunting! :) Her next home will need to give her time to decompress!

APPLY NOW!!!

Banjo

Banjo is a sweet 4ish your old GWP that was a stray in South UT. He is in a foster to adopt in North UT now.

He was adopted by a former foster that lives in Northern, UT. Unfortunately that foster is working too much and now going back to school and Banjo's behavior has back slid due to not getting enough exercise and being left alone for too long of periods during the day.

He is good with other dogs. He Loves to snuggle.  He does well with kids (been around infants and older kids). He is working on his house training, kennel training and recall. He seems to be very birdy, and has thought to have some hunting experience. He also unfortunately seems to have had a previous negative experience with the ecollar. So will need some confidence building and time with his new owner to build that trusting relationship.

APPLY NOW!!

Pema-Curtesy post

Pema is a 7-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer that’s in search of the perfect family. She is currently staying in a loving foster home north of Wenatchee, WA.

We are courtesy posting her for Seattle Purebred GSP Rescue in hopes of helping them find her perfect forever home.

In her foster home she is teaching her humans what she needs to live her best life. She has become calmer and more confident while decompressing in her foster home.

She is kennel trained, has good recall and is a sweet cuddler.  She does require a good amount of exercise so an active home would be best.

Most of the time, Pema does okay with her two foster doggy siblings, but she has shown some reactivity when she feels like she needs to guard her food or fetch balls. Due to the ball resource guarding, she needs exercise options where she won’t encounter balls and other dogs, something other than dog parks for sure.

Her foster family thinks that she would do best in a home as the only dog, or with a family that has a lot of experience helping a rescue pup with resource guarding and, a home without children, or with only older teenagers.

Overall, she a great dog that just needs a little extra training, patience and love. She would love a big, fenced yard to get her zoomies out and a family that's ready for a velcro-companion!

APPLY NOW!!!

Sylvie

Sylvie is an approximate 9yr old female looking for a new home as she has gone after the small dog a couple of times in the last few months, but prior to this they co-existed fine.

She was adopted 3 years ago from Idaho Humane Society, prior to this she was a stray. So her beginning years are unknown.

She is now in a board in train in Kamas, UT.

From her previous owners:

She does live with a cat and seems to ignore her for the most part, but has been known to chase small critters and cats outside the home, so would really need to be a dog savy cat. Her and the smaller dog have gotten into a couple two tuffles, so family would like to find her a different home. She has grown up with ages 5 up to teenage years and done really well with them. She enjoys dogs her size. She has some basic obedience, house training. Will need recall training!!

What the training kennel shares about her

She has had no issues with any other dogs. She has the typical older dog behavior of sniffing new dogs and disengaging. Sylvie shows no signs of resource guarding or “over correction “ for dogs being intrusive when she is relaxing in the play yards.

She is on prescription for urinary incontinence dosed every other day and has had no issues with this while she has been with us and are working on weaning her dose down.

While Sylvie does great outside in the yards with the other dogs, we have noticed that if she is alone in a yard and the staff member walks away, she will bark. We have also noticed this separation anxiety when she is in her kennel space. We have been administering her prescribed Trazadone at a 1/2tab (50mg) at 5pm and again at 9pm and have seen a drastic improvement in her comfort level. This decrease in anxiousness can also be due to having more time in her new setting and decompressing. She no longer barks in her kennel and is happy to rest until staff returns for the evening and morning shifts.  We expect that she could be weaned off of this trazodone once out of the kennel environment.

With this information, we feel she would do best in a home with another dog as she does find comfort in having other dogs around in the yard when the staff ar not in the yard or with someone who isn’t away for too long. Her bark is very light but persistent when she is anxious. In her previous home she was free roam and never had any issues and never chewed anything up.

Her activity demands seem to be pretty low and she is happy to just chill most of the time with other dogs or humans.  She does appear to have an old CCL tear, so she would not be a good fit for a VERY active home, but walks around the neighborhood, and being with a human she can chill with she would love.

Elsie-pending adoption

Elsie is a sweet 6.5yr old spayed female looking for a new home. She has been passed from one hunting guide home to another.
She is currently located in Central Oregon.

Likes: birds and cuddles
Dislikes: nothing that her second home is aware of.
Elsie is woah trained and collar trained with excellent recall. She has had a ton of birds shot over her on various upland preserves in Central Oregon.
All she really needs is someone to give her a little extra love and cuddles.

She may need work on house training as she has primarily been a kennel dog. Shwe is kennel trained so this will make house training very easy! She does fine with other dogs in the field and on fun runs. Because of her hunt drive and age, probably no cats at this point

In the short time he has been in foster he has learned how to use a dog door, he loves people and getting pets, he likes to be outside. He is now going to doggie daycare a couple times a week and is doing well with all small and large dogs.

thunder

Thunder is a 12yr old Springer Spaniel. He was pulled from the Idaho Falls, ID shelter 3 months ago, but he is having a hard time settling with the livestock at his current home.

He is now in foster in Moses Lake, WA looking for his forever home

The family that rescued him from the shelter shared:

The current owner thinks he is hard of hearing. Unsure if he is ecollar trained, but if he is, this could be a great way to communicate with him if his hearing is going to still allow him to be off leash and get the exercise he needs, as we all know these bird dogs go till they can't anymore! He has been great with other dogs in and out of the house. He is getting used to the indoor house cats. He is house trained. He settles well when his humans aren't home on his dog bed and they haven't had any destructive issues. He loves to be outside. His current owner states he has been a dream with the kids and has great house manners.

His new foster mom states he is doing well with his foster brother Harley!

Bella the GSP

Bella is a wonderful 6.5-year-old German Shorthair Pointer that came in with Daisy a Golden Retriever. She has been with the Companion Golden Retriever Rescue in West Jordan, UT for over a year! They don't really have the Pointer clientel, but they didn't want to risk her going to the shelter if the didn't take in Daisy and Bella.

They were both giving up due to owners life circumstances changing.

just hasn't been able to find her active forever home.

She would do fine with other dogs or would be happy to be the one to get all the attention. She has basic obedience training.

Bella is a fun dog . This girl is fun to play with...she is great at catching balls mid-air. She is very birdy and agile, so a 6-foot fence is a must. As you know GSPs can make great family dogs, but they do need daily exercise. If they do not get regular exercise, they can get into mischief. Bella has been a house dog. She can be a little aloof at first, but once she knows you, she is great. She likes to cuddle, and enjoys her dog bed.

She will need off leash recall training! No cat home
