Lev

Lev is an approximately 17 month old  malefrom a hoarding/neglect situation in Utah.

He is currently being fostered in Bend, OR.

He is UTD on vaccines (including Flu, Bordatella and Leptospirosis).

He is neutered and has had a full dental cleaning as of December 2.

More about Lev:

Since coming into rescue on November 27, Lev is settling in at his foster home in Bend, OR. He has slept all night in his crate ever since arriving and has not had any potty accidents in the house, which is great for a dog that has only lived outside!

He is learning to trust his foster mom and look to humans for direction and guidance—everyday on his trail runs he looks back more at his foster mom and is eager to engage and learn. While slightly timid upon meeting new people, he opens up quickly and loves affection from humans. His tail comes up and he wags and leans into their side. He also found out at a local visit to a pet store that humans will give you pets AND beef jerky treats. It was great to see him feel comfortable enough to take food in a new place.

At home he is learning how to live with his 3 foster brothers—Winston, Rocco (a Paws to Peaks alum) and Cyrus. Lev can be quite exuberant so he needs guidance on how to properly interact with his roommates. Slow introductions have been key so he does not get too excited. Rocco gave him some corrections and Lev submitted which was good to see. With time to settle and guidance from his humans he will become a very polite boy.

He goes for a trail run daily and is recall trained using an ecollar so he can start running with the pack and learning how to be a typical GSP that searches and hunts. He will need a GPS collar in his forever home as he ranges out far and fast and tends to run more miles than even his foster brothers who are in shape also! Lev is just a big runner averaging 20miles a day at least off leash. He is also learning trail etiquette and has already seen mountain bikers, other runners and hikers.

At home he is figuring out how to chill in the house, stay on his place, sit for his food and keep his paws off the counter. He takes the correction well and loves praise and pets when he does things correctly. He also loves to play with his foster brothers gently even after running alot!! He will need to go to a multi-dog household.

He doesn’t mind being handled–ear cleanings, nail trims and full bath on the first few days he arrived were not a problem. He can be left in his crate in one room without crying so his kennel training is going well.

Everyday is a new milestone, however small, with this sweet boy. He has started coming out of his kennel at the trailhead (and the vet!) without hesitation. He played with his first toy after 3 days of being in foster and now bounds down the stairs into the yard to go potty wagging his whole body.

He has not been hunted over or had a bird introduction, but his foster mom is committed to making that happen for the right placement.

Lev is going to make a great adventure buddy and family pet

Harper

Harper is a sweet 2-4yr old female English Pointer saved from the shelter setting in Kalispell, MT where she had been sitting for the last 8mtns!!!!

We couldn't believe it either, so we snatched her up as soon as we knew about her.

She is in foster in Columbia falls, MT.

She is great with other dogs and would really thrive with a multidog household. She will take time to warm up to new people, but is getting better and quicker to trust with every interaction. She has not been around young kids, and at this time would take time be comfortable around young kids.

She is kennel trained, and seems to really love her kennel. She is getting used to car rides, we are working on leash training as she does like to pull and also working on heeling. She is off leash trained with an ecollar, she house trained. She is learning to be calm in the house outside of her kennel and is really decompressing every day.

She also seems to love the water and even waded into the river to check out a rock with her winter coat on.

She is a very sweet girl  and will make someone a great companion. In addition she doesn't seem to be gun shy and does have a good prey drive. She has not been hunted over, so this is not guaranteed. She has also not been around cats, and due to her prey drive may not do well.

Kimber

Kimber is  a sweet 7yr old looking for her forever home. She is located out of Columbus, MT. She has a sweet disposition and loves to have all of the attention. She is a "velcro dog" and will snuggle all day by her favorite people. She does well with other dogs and with kids. She can have a lot of energy, and behaves better after she is able to burn some of it off. She will get into things if she is left unattended and has the opportunity. She is known to counter surf and eat anything within reach. She has a bad habit of eating poop (her own, and other dogs) and is regularly given dewormer for this reason. She sometimes has accidents in the house overnight, so she wears doggy diapers to bed. She is kennel trained.

Mack

Mack is a 6 yr old neutered GSP looking for his forever home as his owner's health is declining and they can no longer provide what he needs.
He is currently in Yakima, WA.

Mack is a lovable and happy pup. He loves being around people and other dogs and will do best in a home where he spends minimal time alone. He loves to run and explore but will also be a snuggle-bug on the couch when he's done (preferably under a blanket). He will wade in water, but we haven't gotten him to swim.
Mack is kennel trained (has separation anxiety and needs a secure kennel, (he will come with one). He is house trained, has basic obedience including sit, wait, drop, and off. He does need work on people coming in the door and being calm while waiting at the vet or anywhere where he can see a dog but can't get to them
(he will whine loudly). He loves to be around other dogs, but would do okay as an only dog if his human is home or he gets taken on all the adventures. He will also bring you anything you drop on the floor (phone, bottle of water, etc.). Mack is not hunt trained, and is gun-shy, but he is e-collar trained for recall.
Mack has skin allergies and is currently on prescription dog food and needs occasional allergy shots. He has not had any allergy testing, but that may help determine what he is allergic to and an alternative to the prescription food may be an option.
Mack had surgery in September 2024 for ingesting something he shouldn’t have and is currently kenneled when he can’t be supervised for his safety, but feel this is because he is not getting enough exercise! He is not doing well spending all night and most weekdays in his kennel, especially as his owner cannot provide the exercise that he needs. This is why someone who is home most of the time, can take him wherever they go, or who has the energy to
provide him with ample enrichment will make the best home.

Cody

Cody is a sweet 8yr old neutered male GSP/Lab.

His owners are looking to rehome him as they live in AZ, are worried about the warmer months for him and are in medical school and are worried about him getting enough exercise.

Cody is a very affectionate, loyal dog. He is food motivated and aims to please. He is great is the car and both on and off leash. Cody does have some separation anxiety and doesn’t do well with being left alone for extended periods of time, he also would do best in a family without young kids as loud noises and quick movements can startle him. Can be overwhelmed by children. Does bark at intruders. Would do best with older kids. He would do fine as an only dog or with other dogs.

He has the following training: Kennel Training, Basic Obedience, House Training, Advanced Obedience, and Hunt Training. He has been around kids. He has another younger setter so does fine around other dogs.

Koa

Koa is a 3yr old black and white neutered male GSP looking for his forever home.

He is still with his original owners, currently located in Salmon, WA

He loves being outside, running, and playing fetch. He has extreme drive which has just become to must for us to handle. He needs a home that he has property to roam and/or a job/work. He has been e collar trained. And he is crate trained. Koa would do best with a trained handler or hunter. Someone that can give him a job and a task and can dedicate the time needed to train and be with him. Koa has too much drive to just be a house pet. He needs works and to be mentally and physically stimulated daily. He is house trained and kennel trained. He has had some dog reactivity primarily when on leash, and has had some negative assoications with the ecollar due to a trainer he went to, so will need some work with building his confidence and trust. He is kennel trained, but doesn't always love going into his kennel. So will need continued work on this as well.

Previous to being placed at board and train-He has been an outdoor hunting dog and only worked with a couple months out of the year as a hunting dog. His extended family describes him as a fun and loving dog. He is a little shy around new people, but once he knows you, he loves you instantly and expects the same back. He would do best in a home with another dog. He has been around kids of all ages and done fine with them.

No cats for him as his prey drive is too high

He will be learning all the basics of being a good family dog in his board and train. Apply now!

Hank

Hank is a pleasant 6.5yr old neutered male GSP looking for his forever home as his family moved into town and he misses having space to run and isn't getting exercised as much as he would like.

He is currently in Sandpoint, ID.

He will not do well with cats as he has killed a neighbor's cat by escaping the fence. He is house trained, basic obedience, loves running next to his human's mountain bike, loves trail hiking and swimming. He is e-collar trained. After he gets his exercise in for the day he is your typical GSP and loves to cuddle. He has been around kids of all ages and does well. He would do okay in a house with other dogs or by himself.

He has not been hunted over/taken bird hunting.

APPLY NOW!!!

If you think you could be a great fit for him, please go to our website and under forms is the adoption agreement, please review this, if this looks okay please proceed with the adoption application. Please fill this out and email it back to us and we will respond usually within 24-48 hours.

Theo

Theo is a sweet 3.5 neutered slick coat GWP looking for his new family. He was surrendered to animal control in Davis County, UT because his sister and him kept escaping the yard to chase/kill neighbor chickens.

Theo is a gentle giant - he’s tall for his breed and weighs in around 80 lbs. He has adjusted beautifully to his foster home. Once Theo’s had his morning and evening walks, he typically spends the rest of the day sleeping. Theo is a typical velcro pointer and loves to simply relax/be around his people/pack. Overall his temperament is very mellow and sweet.

Theo’s previous family clearly trained him - He knows basic obedience (sit, down, shake, etc.) and has good recall with and without an e-collar. Off-leash, he stays close and automatically checks in.

Theo does great with other dogs. He enjoys playing with his foster brother and on trails he’s polite and friendly with new dogs.

In his previous home, Theo was a hunting dog, but has since become gun shy. He has a strong prey drive (squirrels, chickens, neighborhood cats) and would need continued management/training if there are any cats/chickens in his new home.

Things we’re working on:

Loose-leash walking: Considering his size, Theo walks pretty well on leash and is easily correctable for pulling (seems to have had some training here). However, due to his size and prey drive, we’re continuing to work on loose leash walking.

Crate training: Theo seems to have had some prior crate training. He will go into his crate during the day, however he does not like being left in there away from his people/pack. We’re continuing to work on crating, we think this behavior might just be due to decompressing/settling in a new home.

Scout

Scout is a sweet 3yr old female who found herself looking for another home, of course no fault of her own.

She was adopted off craigslist after her last litter and then the individual who adopted her moved and city limits required her to a 2 dog limit, so Scout was looking for her new home.

Her previous owner said she is kennel trained, house trained, and also said to be good with other dogs and kids.

She was adopted and living life in Great Falls, MT. Unfortunately her prey drive is just too high and they couldn't get her to co-exist with their cats.

She is now at the home rescue base going under eval for huntability and it seems like that is all she really wants to do when she is outside. Her nose is to the ground! She has great recall with the ecollar. She will need alot of exercise to be your content cuddly dog inside. :)

She is also undergoing dog evaluations and we will have a better idea over the coming weeks how she does with other dogs. She seems to do fine outside the home, but inside she may not have had to previously share her space or maybe she had to guard her space from previous dogs, so time and decompression will tell. I think in a home that is willing to give her time to decompress she would do fine with another dog.

Pema-Curtesy post

Pema is a 7-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer that’s in search of the perfect family. She is currently staying in a loving foster home north of Wenatchee, WA.

We are courtesy posting her for Seattle Purebred GSP Rescue in hopes of helping them find her perfect forever home.

In her foster home she is teaching her humans what she needs to live her best life. She has become calmer and more confident while decompressing in her foster home.

She is kennel trained, has good recall and is a sweet cuddler.  She does require a good amount of exercise so an active home would be best.

Most of the time, Pema does okay with her two foster doggy siblings, but she has shown some reactivity when she feels like she needs to guard her food or fetch balls. Due to the ball resource guarding, she needs exercise options where she won’t encounter balls and other dogs, something other than dog parks for sure.

Her foster family thinks that she would do best in a home as the only dog, or with a family that has a lot of experience helping a rescue pup with resource guarding and, a home without children, or with only older teenagers.

Overall, she a great dog that just needs a little extra training, patience and love. She would love a big, fenced yard to get her zoomies out and a family that's ready for a velcro-companion!

Bunker-pending meet and greet

Bunker is an approximate 3yr old neutered male from a hoarding situation in UT.

He is at the home rescue base outside of Helena, MT.

He is good with other dogs, he can be playful, but can also just chill and has a great off switch if he gets his daily exercise. He is a big runner and runs more than all 7 of his foster GSP siblings, averaging 8-10+ miles a day off leash at least. He is a VERY smart boy. In the first 48 hours of being in the rescue he has learned sit, kennel, down, where to go to go out to potty, leave it command, not to counter surf, and how to share/wait his turn for treats. He is off leash trained with the ecollar. He is getting used to car rides, and has started to settle quicker. He would do best in a multi-dog household, he co-exists with males, but REALLY loves snuggling with all the ladies in the house.

He has not been hunted over or had any hunting, with lots of exposure he could become a bird dog as he has a good nose and has found some deer legs and antlers on the trails!

APPLY NOW!!!

If you think you could be a great fit for him, please go to our website and under forms is the adoption agreement, please review this, if this looks okay please proceed with the adoption application. Please fill this out and email it back to us and we will respond usually within 24-48 hours.

burton-PENDING MEET AND GREET

Burton is a 1.5yr (DOB 4/12/22) old neutered male GSP looking for his forever home. He is currently located out of Pleasant Grove, UT.

He is being surrendered due to him not being anxious/growly with the new baby in the house.

His current owner reports:

Kennel trained (takes some time to adjust to a new kennel or new place that the kennel is in)
House trained
Recall with ecollar, good recall without ecollar (in lower distraction environments)
Sit and stay
Walks pretty well on a prong collar or easylead
Comfortable around bicycles, loves to run with me while biking, but goes off and explores if riding too slow
Place training, medium quality, still requires a monitor/enforcement at times
No proper hunt training, but have practiced whoa'ing (with 'stay' command) when he's on birds around the neighborhood
Very beginnings of gun introduction with a cap gun.
Introduced him to carrying birds in his mouth with a dead pheasant.
Overall very, very smart, and very trainable.

Burton loves to run and explore. He is a goofball, loves to play, super sassy, and loves to snuggle. He's an incredibly good boy that loves to bond with his people. He is pretty independent overall, and in some environments will be nervous of new dogs if they are too nosy. His general preference is to do his own thing. He has no issue with dogs also doing their own thing in his area, and will engage in good quality play/chase with some dogs on occasion.

He enjoys fetch with a ball or a kong frisbee. Has not shown a lot of drive for bumpers. He has a good nose and gets pretty birdy. He will lock up on point on a bush while on a walk, or if he sees a bird in the parking lot by our house when hes off leash, he will lock up and slowly stalk it if it moves away. I have not yet had a chance to get him onto wild birds in a hunting environment, but I believe he has potential to be trained to hunt, or even track wildlife. He will chase deer when we're hiking, but can be recalled off of them with his ecollar. He has tracked coyote (called off before he got to the area they were in).

His typical exercise activities are to go hiking on the wasatch front, wandering the face of the mountain. He checks in on his own, and recalls really well, especially once hes gone back to the same area a couple times. The other common activity is to go to a park with a large field and do any combo of running wild, chasing birds, playing fetch, etc.

Charlie-pending adoption

Charlie is a sweet 1.5yr old male, not altered yet (but will be by rescue), looking for his new forever home. He is currently in Prosser, WA.

He is said to be very sweet and does well with the 3 dogs in his current house, but the kid in the house is allergic to him. He wandered into his current families yard a few months ago, and they looked and posted for his original owner, but he was never claimed. They initially though they were going to keep him since he is so sweet, but their other 3 dogs don't shed and their kid's allergies are significantly worse with Charlie in the house unfortunately.

He is kennel trained and house trained, He loves to chew on his toys, he has been around kids 6-9-11 in the house and other neighborhood kids and done great. They do have 2 outdoor cats and he leaves them alone. Current family think he would do okay as an only dog, but does love is canine friends.

He will be going into a foster to adopt on 4/7. Stay tuned.

He is kennel trained, house trained, basic obedience, and has had some hunt training. He was boucned around alot between a trainer and his home and didn't have consistent hunt training so would need more work in this area. He has been around other dogs and kids 5 and up and did well with all of them.

Buckey aka rocky-On medical hold

Buckey is a sweet boy who was just brought into the rescue as a very sick boy. Approx 3-5yr old. Not fixed yet.

He was found as a stray on someone else's property north of Moses Lake, WA in the middle of nowhere. He was posted for stray hold and on all the lost dog groups in the area and no one claimed him. Unfortunately, due to his health appearance, he was most likely dumped.

He was taken into the vet and diagnosed with PLE (protein losing enteropathy). This is a lifelong condition and unsure why he ended up with at this time. IF he is able to pull through the next 2 weeks after getting 3 liters of fluid pulled from his abdomen, he will be available for adoption. He is now on a low-fat diet and prednisone. Time will tell over the next couple weeks if he is going to pull through.

Right now he is being fostered on a medical hold in Moses Lake, WA area.

Here is what his foster has to say about him:

He is a sweet boy and is perking up every day. He is gaining weight which is great as that means he is holding onto nutrients. His stools have also normalized and he is no longer having profuse diarrhea.

He does well with other dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats even! He is learning to share his toys and does guard his food from his foster brother (pretty common as a stray and with how malnourished he is, and this will improve with training and as he gains weight and realizes he is going to get plenty of food).

He gets fed every 3 hours initially and now is trialing three times a day to see if he holds onto to this volume. He does not seem to have any separation anxiety and settles well in his kennel when left unattended during the day and sleeps in his kennel at night.

He doesn't seem to be scared if loud noises, but house noises like a blow dryer and vacuum he isn't too sure of yet. He does seem to like to fetch.

Unknown if he has previous hunting experience.

He isn't very gently when taking treats or toys, so no really young kids.

Maggie- in foster to adopt

Maggie is a 5 year old German Shorthair Pointer weighing in at a whopping 40 lbs. Her owner passed away, and grew up with 2 other female GSPs, but they are all on their own foster homes now. She is in foster in Midvale, UT

She is extremely friendly and thinks absolutely everyone wants to come pet her. She enjoys the comfort of her kennel and sleeps through the night. She is still learning leash manners but is very excited for her morning and nightly walkies. She has had no issues with other dogs so far and presents as playful and goofy. Although she could run all day, Maggie won't turn down snuggles on the couch. She has not been destructive with toys or bedding and doesn’t seem to have an interest in fetch. She does however like to chase whoever is playing fetch. She does tippy-tap happy toes for treats, dinner, and big spins for cheese. Her lips get stuck on her teeth when she smiles and she reaches for the sky when she sleeps on her back. When she itches her feet she puts the whole foot in her mouth and chomps down. She settles well and wines infrequently. She’ll wag her nubbin for miles during walks. She is a happy, goofy, snuggly, cheese lovin’ little lady.

She has been tent camping and did great. She is off leash trained with an ecollar, she loves to swim, she loves laying by the campfire after a good day of stretching her legs!

Clio is a sweet 3.5yr old spayed female slick coat GWP. She was surrenered to animal control for killing chickens in Davis Co, UT.

She will be in a foster to adopt in SLC. She is said to be very social girl. She is pretty high energy and has said to been hunted over. She will be going through behavioral assessment and basic training while in foster. She has been around kids 4-17. She has also been around an indoor cat, but unsure how/if they actually lived in the same space and with her high prey drive would not trust her with new cats in a new setting.

We anticipate her foster adopting, but this will be there first bird dog, so they are trying it out to see if they can keep up with her energy needs.
