Drax
Drax is a 4yr old neutered male GSP that is looking for his forever home. He is currently in Spokane, WA. He would do best as an only and no kids under the teenage years.

Drax has been through a lot of training -
Currently, Drax gets 2-3 short training sessions per day + 1-2 treadmil sessions +/- a run outside + 1 walk +/- ball throwing. From a discipline and control standpoint he’s a fantastic dog. Really a pleasure to train. I can heel him at my side without a leash for an entire walk (+/- a few e-collar corrections). Yesterday I called him off a rabbit he was chasing with voice alone and brought him to heel at my side. Of course, he needs a lot of consistent work given how high energy he is.

Drax is off leash trained, ecollar trained, kennel trained, house trained, LOVES fetch. He likes car rides. He wants to be included in all the adventures like any GSP :) He needs lots of exercise (like any GSP :)), and would snuggle in your lap if you let him.
Wherever he goes, we can provide his training plan and consultation with our trainer to help the new owners continue his training (we still have a few paid sessions left that came with the month we paid for). We will also provide his medical records (shots up to date as of Jan) and the following equipment:
-collapsable crate with bed for the house
-Ruffland kennel with ventilation fan and bed
-leather leash
-e-collar
-a harness for traveling in vehicles too small for the kennel
-chuck it with balls
-bowels and food

Roxie
This is Roxie. She just turned 2. Currently fostered in Montana

She is looking for her new home where someone is home more often than not as she has developed a seizure disorder. She does have a seizure disorder, but has gone over 3 months without one at this point! She is on 2 Keppra and K-bro
She has some hunting training. She lived outside previously, but is now house trained. She knows how to use a dog door now and self-regulates. She sleeps in a crate at night and is in one when no one is home. She is VERY treat motivated and now knows sit and knows to wait her turn when treats are passed out. She’s a pretty low-key sweet girl who has no problem with other dogs. She hasn't played much so she is learning cues from other dogs and when they are done playing. She is a vocal player. She hasn’t been around kids that we know of, other than the high school-aged ones she lived with previously, but since she is so sweet natured we think she would do fine.
She’s still got a lot of puppy in her and will need continued basic obedience training.

hank
Hank is a sweet 13yr old GWP who was originally an owner surrender to Yakima Humane with a 16yr old chihuahua due to no longer being able to care for them. They were attempted to be adopted out as a bonded pair, but the shelter didn't have any takers on both, so they did adopt out the chihuahua and Hank was left behind. Hank started to get kennel stressed after being in the shelter for approx 2 months, one of which was without his buddy.
He was placed with a terrier rescue who was not able to keep him separated and he got along with some dogs, but not all.

He is now in foster outside of Summer Lake, OR.
​
He LOVES fetch, he loves his daily walks and still needs them to be a well behaved boy. He is working on relaxing in a kennel in his new foster. He has been on an ecollar before as he responded right away with his foster with it.
​
Hank would love a home where is human is home or he can go with on all the adventures. Hank would prefer to be the only dog, but has been known to co-exist with big and small dogs. Will require meet and greet prior to any adoption with other dog(s) in the household.

Holden
Holden is a sweet approx 15mnt old GSP neutered male.
He was a stray and was at risk of euthanization at a shelter in UT, thankfully we were able to get him out of that situation.
He was adopted out in March and unfortunately returned as the family was unable to meet his typical GSP exercise needs.

He is currently in Helena, MT
Holden needs a active home that will take him on daily off leash walks/hikes. My foster mom states tired dogs are good satisfied dogs!
This dog is driven to please his owners. Very focused on doing what they want him to do. And successful- a quick learner. He is off leash trained with an ecollar, and house trained and learned the dog door in 1 day! He is kennel trained. He loves fetch. He loves the water. He would do best with older kids as he is still very exuberant and gets excited easily.
He will need to go to a home with another young playful pup! He is also good with cats!!!
He is a lover, loves to snuggle, and is a very sweet handsome boy.

Maverick
​​​Maverick is a sweet 6yr old neutered male GSP that was stuck in the Logan, UT sheriff holding cell as the humane society was full.
He came in as a stray and has been in the shelter since end of April.
He is now in foster in Newman Lake, WA area.
​
He does well with all the dogs, but does not enjoy the puppy energy of dogs being up in his space/face and wanting to play all the time, but he would do great with other older mature dogs.
​
Since he has been in the shelter since end of April, he will need a refresher on house training potentially. And we are unsure what other training he has since he was a stray.

Dash
​Dash is a sweet 3yr old GSP who is a big boy weighing in at 90lbs. He was an owner surrender in the Seattle area due to their older rescue continuing to pick fights with him. Despite that he loves other dogs and loved going to the board and train facility.
He is being fostered just outside of Seattle, WA

He is house trained, kennel trained, loves car rides, working on leash training.
We will be finding out more about him as he spends a couple weeks in foster.

Ruger
Ruger is a sweet 9mnt old almost all black male GSP. He was an owner surrender from family in North eastern, MT who were unable to meet his needs.
​He is in foster outside of Missoula, MT.
He does well with all the dogs, is unsure of the chickens thus far at his foster house, so unsure if he has any hunting potential.

Bee
Bee is an approx 3yr old GWP female who is currently in foster outside of Boise, ID.
She was a transfer from the Burley, ID shelter and came in as a stray.
She does well with other dogs but doesn't really know how to play. She walks very well on leash. She likes the dog park and going for car rides. She is house trained and working on kennel training.
She is now spayed and up to date on vaccines.
She has not been hunted over, and unknown if she is good around cats.

Curly
Curly is a 4yr old big 85lbs GWP mix that was set to be euthanized due to no applications since coming into the shelter last Spring. She was saved from a shelter in UT and is in foster in Northern UT.
​
What her foster says about her:
Curly is a big lump of love that loves to be with her people and be apart of life. She doesn't bark but she does love to impersonate an ambulance when it goes by. She is inviting to all and loves to make friends (even small children) and be a patio friend. Once she warms up she likes to play in the morning and night when she gets her zoomies, but she is over all just an easy-going love bug.
She walks well and will never leave your side on a leash. She has human eyes that will tell you exactly how she feels.
Her create training in progress, but is able to make it inside or outside through the night in her create with the door open only. She would make an amazing chill family dog that has land because she loves being outside and naps/walks in tall grass. She does okay with other dogs, she is weary at first but will warm up if they aren't too much in her business. She's a 50/50 on cats. The only part of other animals she doesn't do well with is if they are too hyper in her face, but in all honesty who enjoys that?!.
She is the sweetest girl with the biggest heart and no one deserves a forever home as much as her!"

Curly's history prior to coming to rescue:
While in the shelter she was getting kenneled stressed, so the shelter found a temp foster for her who tool her for most of the summer on all their adventures. She went camping, hiking and 4-wheeling with them and loved it all. She ended up being returned as she kept jumping their 4-foot gate, but ironically wouldn't go anywhere, she would be waiting on the front porch of them. They also struggled with her nighttime anxiety and her only wanting to sleep outside.

Her new foster has been working on building her confidence and feeling comfortable inside the house and is sleeping through most of the night inside!

Roe
​Roe is a sweet 4yr old English Setter that was an owner surrender from UT due to having anxiety and escaping her outdoor kennel and continuing to get injured in the process.
​
She is very sweet girl, getting along with her 2 foster setters. She is house trained. She is ecollar trained and smart (ie knows when she doesn't have one on), seems to be VERY birdy and not gun shy. She is terrified of thunderstorms and will find the smallest place to hide during these.
She is currently on hold as she heals from pneumonia secondary to a presumed inhaled grass awn.

Birdie
Birdie is a 15mnt old GSP mix who was stuck in the shelter since beginning of January. She was in the shelter for a total of 9 months. And as time went on she became more exuberant with her behavior and more puppy with excitement and energy and was starting to get kennel stressed.
Thankfully we didn't give up on her because she is said to be the sweetest girl, she just needed to get out of the shelter and given time to decompress and go through some formal training.

Birdie is at a board and train just south of Bellingham, WA.
She likes other dogs, but is still learning how to play and is a big girl weighing in at 60lbs.
She will be working on all the basics and more.

Enzo-pending adoption
Enzo is about 3yrs old neutered male GWP, Spinone Italiano, mix who came to rescue due to being surrendered once due to escaping the fence, and then his 2nd home he kept forgetting what a big puppy he is and get a little rough with his human siblings. He was then adopted from the rescue in 12/2021 and re-surrendered a third time due to being to protective of his home.
Enzo is a boy that has some high energy, but is great about entertaining himself with bones, as long as he gets a good run in the am and is able to play with his 4 legged siblings. He will need multiple outings a day to be a good dog inside the house. He has been known to be a fence jumper when he does not get enough exercise.
He has not been hunted over, but could make a good hunter as he is eager to please, but will need some training.
He is recall trained with an ecollar. He kennel trained, and basic obedience commands like not jumping up on people, sit, shake, stay, leave it. He LOVES all the other dogs in the rescue and is doing great inside and outside the house. He knowns how to use a dog door. Did my rescue lady mention how smart I am?!
His ideal home would be someone willing to exercise him and give him structure.

Domino-pending adoption
Domino is a sweet appox 10mnt old male GSP that was picked up as a stray near Libby, MT.

He is currently fostered in Great Falls, MT

Here is what his foster has to say about him so far:
He is a very sweet event tempered dog that loves to please. Dom as his foster is calling him for short, knows sit and here although he needs reinforcement to strengthen it. He loves to be active, but will also relax in the house.

Domino has showed interest in birds and loves to use his nose everywhere he goes. He shows good potential to be a very well behaved and obedient dog. He has not been around cats. He loves to play with other dogs and currently lives with one male GWP and female GWP. He settles in a kennel at night and when is foster is away from home. We are working on basic obedience, recall, and exposure to all the things life has to offer!

whisky-pending adoption
Whisky is an absolute love and is an approx 2.5yr old male GWP mix who came into rescue from a very small shelter in Southern UT. He is neutered and up to date on his shots and microchipped. He was started to go kennel crazy in the shelter and so we found a foster for him!

He is CURRENTLY at a board and train in Kamus, UT
His first foster worked hard on kennel training and he can be left for a few hours at a time in his kennel.
He is very expressive and eager to be close to his people, especially if belly rubs and cuddles are on offer. He walks well with a halter and respectfully checks in with a nose touch to your leg every now and then. Whiskey is great with the two other male dogs in his foster home. He is learning to kennel up and picks up new skills quickly with positive reinforcement and treats. He is calm in the house.
Whiskey loves hiking and playing in the water. He is goofy and enthusiastic outdoors, and it seems backcountry hiking may be a new experience.
Whiskey will thrive in an active home with loving, consistent people. He’s eager to learn and please. Above all, he wants to be with you and loved. He is not bothered by sounds - vacuum, hair dryer, shop vac, fireworks. Whiskey is very gentle when taking treats and has a very soft mouth in general. He has slept through the night on a dog bed without issue and without attempts to sneak into bed (though he would clearly prefer an invite onto the bed if you were up for a bedfellow). He does not show an active prey drive or propensity to hunt.
In his board and train he is working on his impulse control, getting to know all the dogs big and small and his off leash recall which is becoming spot on even with distraction. He will need continued training (as all dogs do :) )

cisco-pending adoption
Cisco is an approx 4yr old male GSP mix looking for his forever home.
His initial family was not able to care for him or give him the exercise he needed. He was also not a big fan of their young kids, and thought the kids were too stressful for him, so they surrendered him to the shelter. He was brought into the rescue as he was decompensating in the shelter, shutting down and loosing weight and was going to be euthanized.
​
Some things that his foster family wants you to know:
- fully crate trained and house trained
- knows sit, stay, down, place and several tricks. Learns tricks very quickly and loves to use his nose to find snacks
- amazing with outdoor sports, will run with you next to a bike or chase you on a mountain bike, clears jumps like a gazelle and ignores other dogs and people
- walks very nicely on a leash
- big snuggler, loves to curl up next to you
- does great with visitors and strangers outside and but prefers to approach them on his own terms
- does great with visitors in the house but prefers to be ignored by them and approach on his own terms (better when they have treats)
- ok with some dogs when introduced slowly and properly. prefers confident well mannered dogs who respect his space . He is learning how to play with other dogs.
He does like to follow his nose, he likes the water, he loves to snow, likes car rides, and is doing well with his off-leash training!

hershal- in foster to adopt
Hershal is a 2yr old neutered Deutsch Drahthaar. He is up to date on shots, but is not microchipped. He is being surrendered as his family is moving to Alaska and didn't feel they could provide what he needed to thrive.
He is currently fostered outside of Missoula, MT

He knows some basic obedience and is kennel trained. He will need more off leash training, in addition to socialization with other dogs and humans. He is protective of his humans in the home and will need someone patient and willing to work through this. He does tend to want to be dominant in dog interactions, but again, will improve with training. He has not been hunted over, but has a high prey drive, so no small critters for him. Ideally should go to a home with older kids or no kids.

Gunner- is missing
GUNNER IS MISSING- LAST SEEN 50MILES SOUTH OF MALTA TUESDAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING!!!

IF YOU ARE IN EASTERN MONTANA WE ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR HIM! We did hire a private trapper, that searched with drones with no sign of him, so he could have ranged outside the area!

Gunner is a sweet 2.5yr old GSP, neutered in a foster to adopt in Lewistown, MT.
​
He was surrendered due to his family not being able to give him the time he deserved. They were going to take him to the shelter so the breeder took him back in.
​
Gunner does have severe kennel anxiety where he will pant and drool. This has improved some since he has been back with the breeder. When left out of the kennel he does not show any destructive behaviors and has done well with all the other dogs in the house and kids. He has never been hunted over, but we are told his father is a master hunter.
