Meet Buck, an energetic approximate 2-year-old English Pointer who is ready for his forever home!
Rescued from the Nephi area in South Utah, he was originally chained up outside and kept escaping chasing livestock.
Buck is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, currently thriving in a foster family in Salt Lake City.
He’s sweet and loves to snuggle with his foster sister, is house trained, kennel trained and off-leash recall trained with an ecollar. He is an English Pointer, so does love to follow his nose and range out far if you let him. Buck enjoys his walks and is always on the lookout for birds. He has had bird and gun intro and would make a great hunting partner with some additional training, he has the instincts and will even retrieve a bird to hand. He is working on his retrieving skills with bumpers. He loves the water and will play in the pool.
He loves to come home after his runs and has a great off switch!!
Due to his high prey drive He will need a cat-free home.

Cody
Cody is a sweet 8yr old neutered male GSP/Lab.
His owners are looking to rehome him as they live in AZ, are worried about the warmer months for him and are in medical school and are worried about him getting enough exercise.
Cody is a very affectionate, loyal dog. He is food motivated and aims to please. He is great is the car and both on and off leash. Cody does have some separation anxiety and doesn’t do well with being left alone for extended periods of time, he also would do best in a family without young kids as loud noises and quick movements can startle him. Can be overwhelmed by children. Does bark at intruders. Would do best with older kids. He would do fine as an only dog or with other dogs.

Dash is a sweet 8.5yr old setter (currently not altered, but the rescue will be getting him neutered) looking for his forever home. He is currently located in Berry, Kentucky. His dad is a rancher, realtor, and now has 2 young kids and feels bad for Dash that he isn't out doing what he loves. He LOVES to hunt and his dad states he didn't even get him out this last year. He has the following training: Kennel Training, Basic Obedience, House Training, Advanced Obedience, and Hunt Training. He has been around kids. Q
Q is a sweet 2yr old English Pointer that was pulled from the Idaho Falls, ID shelter.
He was surrendered with a Great Dane. He is said to be good with other dogs. Not much else is known about his past.
He is in foster in Idaho Falls right now.
He just graduated from obedience class and does well walking on leash, he knows heel, sit and can walk in a big group of dogs and still focus, even though he is a bird dog and a young boy. :)
In the short time he has been in foster he has learned how to use a dog door, he loves people and getting pets, he likes to be outside. He observes the cattle outside the fence and just hangs with them. His bird drive does seem to be increasing, and he doesn't seem scared of loud noises. He is now going to doggie daycare a couple times a week and is doing well with all small and large dogs. He has graduated from canine good citizen class as well! He is leash trained and has all the basic obedience down!
He has not been hunted over to our knowledge, but could make a good bird dog if someone is willing to put in the time and effort. He will need continued work on leash training, basic obedience and off leash training.

Cooper- in idaho
Cooper is 6.5yrs old and was surrendered not once, but twice due to both of his humans health failing. His initial owner passed away from cancer, his second owner only had him a year and half before their health started failing and they couldn't meet his needs anymore.

He would love to be the only dog and get all the attention. He would thrive on a farm. He will not be a good dog for the dog park. He is your typical middle aged pointer who likes to follow his nose and work. He has great recall with the ecollar and whistle. He is definitely birdy, and He has supposedly been hunted over, but is a bit rusty, but could be used for hunting if you wanted to put in a little work. He would love an active individual that can get him the exercise he needs, like all pointers do! He is house trained, kennel trained, and at a great age to be able to go when you want, but chill in the house!

Sage is a sweet soul who is 6yrs young looking for her final forever home. She is in foster in Lacey, WA.
She does not walk well on a leash, but behaves beautifully with her e-collar!
Sage is crate trained and enjoys it but she does have genetic urinary incontinence so the blankets needs washed every other day.
Her basic commands are “come”, “sit”, “place”, “off”, “leave it”, and “box” (kennel). She absolutely loves to give all humans hugs and she would probably enjoy learning how to hunt since she has high prey drive. An active family that is familiar with bird dog behavior would be good for her

Annie is a sweet 8yr old spayed female who found herself looking for a new home as her owner was placed in a nursing home. She spent the last 3yrs with that owner, and her time before that is unkown as she was adopted from a local shelter.
She is currently in Snohomish, WA and needs URGENT foster as she isn't getting along well with other dogs in the house as she is used to having it all to herself. She has previously done well with dogs outside the home as she tends to mind her own business
She is house trained, unsure if she is kennel trained, but doesn't tear anything up when left unattended. She likes fetch and likes the water. Has been known to kill chickens... she is a bird dog afterall, and needs a no cat home.

Mia
Sage is a sweet soul who is 4yrs old looking for her final forever home. She is currently in Weber county, UT and will be moved to foster in Provo, UT
She is on the smaller side (35-40 pounds) and isn't very tall. Outside of the shelter she is a love. Mia has done well with other dogs (including a small male dog) with proper introductions. She has lived with kids ages 5-17 and done well. (they are respectful and been around dogs their whole life). Mia has a lot of drive and energy. She has not had off leash training. However she has brought back live pheasants with no prior hunt training. She is house and crate trained. She does well in the car.

Vinny
Vinny aka Moose was from another rescue that was closing and a sweet family took him in before they closed their doors. They have had him for about 2 months and have come to realize they cannot provide him what a GSP needs!
Currently in Oroville, WA
The current owners describe him as an absolute love bug. He does great with their 18mnt old when he is calm, but when he has gotten the zoomies he has knocked him over which is one big reason they are rehoming him as they do not have a good outlet for his energy. He is approx 90lbs so is a big boy! He does well with other dogs, and loves to play. He is said to have a great nose and has pointed quite a few times so they think he could make a good bird dog, just has not had any training or exposure to bird hunting or guns. He is now kennel trained and house trained. He loves to carry his toys around. He loves to snuggle after he has gotten his zoomies out.

Kona
Kona is a sweet 9yr old spayed GSP looking for her forever home.
She is currently in Plain City, UT
She was apparently adopted from the shelter a few months ago, and the owner decided he couldn't give her the attention she needed, so he decided to just open the door and let her "run free".
Well she got picked up by animal control and then was claimed by a family member. That family member cannot keep her due to housing restrictions, but didn't want her sitting in the shelter or getting let loose again where she could get injured or lost.
She is said to be good with other dogs, kids and cats! She knowns how to use a dog door and loves having that freedom. She doesn't chew anything up. She is kennel trained. She loves swimming and having her own little pool in her back yard. She loves to cuddle as well, typical GSP!
She would do best in a home with another dog.
She has been around kids the ages 5 and up.
She also supposedly has hunting experience and loves to do it, but she has not been hunted over since arriving in rescue, so this has not been verified.

Rachel-pending adoption
Rachel is a sweet 7mnt old female GSP that was a stray in South UT and never claimed.
She will be in foster in Provo, UT with Atley!
She learned fetch pretty quick. She walks well on leash. She is learning kennel trainig and house training.
We do not know anything about her, other than she seems to do well with other dogs. She will be going through all the basic training, will need to be fixed and then she will be ready for her forever home.
She has not been hunted over to our knowledge, but is very birdy and did great with her bird and gun intro. With the right home she could be trained to do this.

Atley-pending adoption
Atley is approx. 2 yrs old male English Pointer and was picked up on the side of the road outside of San Bernadino, CA. He had multiple lacerations on his legs and pads were in ruff shape. He was set for euthanization and we were able to pull him the day he was supposed to lose his life!
We transported him to loving foster home in Provo, UT
For those of you that missed the initial posts here is a recap of this poor boy’s story:
On July 14th, Atley was picked up outside of San Bernardino and brought in to the City Animal Shelter employees as a “stray” after having sustained pretty severe injuries. What exactly happened is unknown, but he appears to have jumped from, or been hit by a car. The shelter gave this loving, loyal, and young boy just 4 days before he was set to be euthanized on July 18th, but thankfully a team of volunteers made giving this sweet boy a fighting chance their top priority, and he has since been rescued from the shelter!
He sustained some very deep wounds to his left front leg and the ER vet is honestly surprised he is alive after rotting in the shelter for 5 days with the same bandage on, no antibiotics on board and laying in his own feces and urine!
He was in CRITICAL CARE in the ICU in Salt Lake City, UT.
He was taken into the ER vet first thing this morning and he was admitted for IV antibiotics, debriding of wounds, then he was bandaged for a week, then had a second surgery on his elbow to fixed the severed tendon. Then he was in a cast for another 2 weeks and then kennel rest for an additional 6 weeks. His follow up appt is 9/16 where he will get cleared to come off kennel rest hopefully and start to have some exercises added to his routine!! He is expected to make a full recovery and be a normal active bird dog.
Atley is full of life and has the spirit to conquer his recovery, but the road ahead is long and costly. While Atley settles in with his foster family, he has already incurred significant vet expenses for his severe injuries. Thus far, is receiving overnight vet treatment for IV antibiotics, and the surgical team will be seeing him first thing in the morning. They will consult on whether a skin graft is necessary on his front left leg, and what the next steps are to give him a fighting chance of keeping his left front leg!

Roux is a 4yr old GSP who was in AK looking for his forever home.
He came down from AK and was placed in a board and train in Missoula, MT. He is now in foster in Billings, MT. We found out he had hypothyroidism and we are working to get that under control.

Meet Cooper! Formerly known as Clover, charming guy has a name that matches his playful spirit. At 6-8 years old, he has the energy of a puppy and is always ready for an adventure. When indoors, Cooper is calm and enjoys his cozy kennel, and will kennel right up and lay down and be sleeping usually within 10minutes, but he's also a fan of walks, and walks well on leash and likes car rides. He's friendly and gets along well with other dogs, as long as he doesn't have to share his space or toys with them, and fetch is one of his favorite games!
He has not been hunted over or exposed to gun fire, so unsure how he would do in a hunting home. He would love an active individual that can get him the exercise he needs, like all pointers do!

Mack-pending adoption
Mack is a 6 yr old neutered GSP looking for his forever home as his owner's health is declining and they can no longer provide what he needs.
He is currently in Yakima, WA.
Mack is a lovable and happy pup. He loves being around people and other dogs and will do best in a home where he spends minimal time alone. He loves to run and explore but will also be a snuggle-bug on the couch when he's done (preferably under a blanket). He will wade in water, but we haven't gotten him to swim.
Mack is kennel trained (has separation anxiety and needs a secure kennel, (he will come with one). He is house trained, has basic obedience including sit, wait, drop, and off. He does need work on people coming in the door and being calm while waiting at the vet or anywhere where he can see a dog but can't get to them
(he will whine loudly). He loves to be around other dogs, but would do okay as an only dog if his human is home or he gets taken on all the adventures. He will also bring you anything you drop on the floor (phone, bottle of water, etc.). Mack is not hunt trained, and is gun-shy, but he is e-collar trained for recall.
Mack has skin allergies and is currently on prescription dog food and needs occasional allergy shots. He has not had any allergy testing, but that may help determine what he is allergic to and an alternative to the prescription food may be an option.
Mack had surgery in September 2024 for ingesting something he shouldn’t have and is currently kenneled when he can’t be supervised for his safety, but feel this is because he is not getting enough exercise! He is not doing well spending all night and most weekdays in his kennel, especially as his owner cannot provide the exercise that he needs. This is why someone who is home most of the time, can take him wherever they go, or who has the energy to
provide him with ample enrichment will make the best home.
